This fall, Casteliers is organizing an online Zoom workshop for Outremont seniors and their family or friends.
The Never too old for puppet theatre! workshop offers seniors 60 years + the opportunity to learn the basics of shadow theatre, build their very own silhouettes and contribute to the staging of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, in an adaptation by playwright Jan Decorte.
The workshop will take place over six (6) one-hour sessions and wil be led by an international team of experienced puppeteers composed of Frans Hakkermars and Joanna Oussoren from the Droomtheater Company (Netherlands), Annie Katsura Rollins (Toronto) and Caroline Tanguay and Marie-Claude Labrecque from L’Allumette, Théâtre de Marionnettes (Montréal).
This project will offer participants the opportunity to experience a collective and communal artistic adventure dedicated to the ancient art of shadow theatre. During this unique experience, they will be invited to give free rein to their imagination, explore the poetry of shadows, and share happy, creative moments with others from the comfort of their home.
