Our annual Kickoff event is a wonderful way for your business or organization to show your support for our collective efforts to improve lives and build community. Where we cannot all celebrate in person, we are asking our partners to participate virtually.
This year’s Kickoff event is free to all however donations are welcomed! Donations (in lieu of ticket sales) will be used to help us kickstart our annual Campaign fundraising. Traditionally, Kickoff not only helps bring the community together to announce our shared goal and vision for the coming campaign, it also serves to raise funds for valuable community services. All funds raised go to support immediate needs in our community via our Community Fund. Ticketing is available in $20 or $10 increments to take the place of our usual table purchases during our previous in-person kickoff events. All funds raised goes back to our community fund which supports immediate needs in our community. If you are not able to donate, there are tickets available at no cost, we want to make this kickoff accessible to all!
Our Kickoff will include the following guest speakers; Faith McFarland (Executive Director UWCNB), Nick Russon (Incoming UWCNB Board President) and Lisa Edwards (Executive Director Capital Region Mental Health Assoc). Along with the above guest speakers, who will be touching on the impact that United Way has had over the last year, how we plan to move ahead this year with COVID-19 on the top of everyone’s mind, and how we plan to continue to support the most vulnerable people in our communities through our collective action and support of important programs and agencies. We will also be launching our online campaign toolkit and how we are focusing on four main #Unignorable issues, Homelessness, Poverty, Domestic Violence and Mental Health as we launch our 2020 Campaign. We will also be discussing the launch of our upcoming monthly speaker series which will feature important subjects that are directly affecting our community.
